Dear frustrated water polo coaches
On behalf of the Exec I send you healthy wishes and trust that you and your families are well.
What a year it has been! With no prospect of school water polo this year we have secured the services of an online mental and psychological training programme for you, your players and parents. This programme is endorsed by USA Rugby and USA Field Hockey and has been embraced locally by Gauteng Schools Water Polo and Reddam. Duncan Woods is one of the directors involved. A detailed brochure is attached for your information.
WPSWP has bought a one-year licence and it is open to any schools’ water polo coach within Western Province. Our only requirement is that if you buy in to the programme, you complete the full year. There is no cost to you.
If you have a look at the brochure or visit the website, you will see there is hundreds if not thousands of articles and elements to consider. To make this easier to manage and work through, Duncan Woods will be hosting an online Zoom information session on 6 or 7 October in the early evening. The date and time to be confirmed.
We have also appointed Nicola Barrett to be the overall co-ordinator for the implementation of the programme and she too will explain her role at the information session. She is currently the coordinator for Reddam’s programme and is a trained sports psychologist.
