At the IPT feedback session this weekend, the coaches reported that having a daily supply of fruit, biltong, nuts and health bars for the players was a great idea and very much appreciated by all. We will definitely look at refining and repeating this practice at future tournaments. As it was the first time we included this offering for our athletes we had to estimate quantities. Our thinking was to rather have left-overs than run out, which meant that we did end up over-catering. A decision was taken to gift the remaining snacks to various children’s homes and care centres around East London and Cape Town and these donations resulted in many surprised and smiling young faces.
