FREEDOM SWIM 2018
Dear Friends
After months of training and cold water swims, I have qualified and am ready for the Freedom Swim on 21 April 2018. I will be swimming from Robben Island to Big Bay mainland in my Turbo costume, cap and goggles. The swim is known as the hardest extreme cold open water swim in the world, the main extreme being the water temperature which is usually around 13°C, and since it is open to the Atlantic Ocean, swimmers experience swells and chop similar to the English Channel.
Swimming for Good is the motto of the Freedom Swim. This year I have decided to raise funds for Western Province Water Polo players who cannot afford to participate in the inter provincial tournament in East London at the end of 2018. Water polo has played a huge role in my life both at school and at Stellenbosch University and I was privileged enough to be able to represent Western Province for 7 years. I would love to be able to ensure that other players who are selected but cannot afford the costs involved are able to achieve their dreams. Each and every donation, no matter how big or small, will go 100% towards supporting players.
Please make payments into the following account:
Account name: WPSWP (Western Province Schools Water Polo)
Bank: Standard Bank
Branch code: 05001
Account: 071459448

With huge thanks
JOSH
