Making a Splash – News from Western Province Schools Water Polo

Another big weekend has come and gone, and this time we saw our U13’s battle it out at SACS, and the first ever tournament in the Valley!

SACS played host to the annual U13 event – one of the biggest in the country! With tough games all the way through for our local schools, we got to see SACS, Wet Pups and Rondebosch all make it through to the quarters – but of the three, only Wet Pups were able to push all the way to the final. A tough game for them, St Johns proved to be just too strong and for the first time in the tournament’s history, it was won by a Gauteng school. Congratulations to all the teams who played – it was a great show of talent all round!

In the Valley, a number of schools from around Cape Town fought it out for their top spot, but it was St Cyprians in the Girl’s section and Pinelands in the Boys’ who walked off with the bragging rights! A great tournament was had, and hopefully this will be one to keep an eye on in the future!

As is tradition, after the SACS U13 tournament WPSWP hosts its U13 trials, and this year was no different. Congratulations to the players selected!
