This week has seen less polo played, especially with the tournaments which were held, and this will continue for the next two weekends as teams travel to Grey PE this week, and then its just down the road to Reddam for the Pitcairn Cups! Good luck to all those involved, and bring the silverware back home for us!
The past weekend’s results
Very few games were played in the boys section, but overall it was between Bishops and Rondebosch Boys High School who took the points. For Bishops, Paul Roos proved to be easier matches, with the U19’s winning 11-7; the U15’s winning 70-7; and the U14’s cruising through to a 12-1 win.
Rondebosch took on Wynberg, and this too proved to be an easier weekend, with the U19’s walking away with a 15-4 win and the U15’s a 14-0 win. In the U14 match however, the game ended in a complete stalemate, at one all.
The girls had a busy weekend. Reddam took on Rustenburg, winning all three of their games. The U19’s 11-1; the U16’s 6-1 and the U14s 14-0.
Herschel and Bloemhof went head to head, but sadly for Bloemhof, the girls in pink were far too strong. The U19 score was 12-1 to Herschel, the U16’s were 22-2 and the U14’s from Herschel took their game 13-0.
Westerford and Springfield clashed, except in the U19 game which will take place on the 10th of February. In the U16 game, Westerford won with a comfortable 20-1 score line. He U14’s were closer however, ending off 5-2 to Westerford.
What’s on this week
This week sees very few boys games, with the only schools playing in the A league being Rondebosch, who play Reddam and Westerford at Rondebosch; and Wynberg against Paul Roos at Wynberg. The big game for this weekend will most definitely be Rondebosch against Reddam in the U19 section, which takes place at 11:45.
For the girls, Westerford takes on Somerset College, Reddam clashes with Bloemhof, Wynberg Faces Springfield, and Herschel is visited by Rhenish. The big game here will have to be between Wynberg and Springfield, who sit in the middle of the table. This will be hosted at Wynberg.
Reddam action tournament
For the U13 teams, there was a busy weekend hosted at Reddam, with boys and girls from many schools coming together.
In the Girls section, Reddam walked away with the grand prize. The Boys section was claimed by a very excited Rondebosch side.
