Congratulations to the players selected for the Development Teams as mentioned in the SWPSA Chairman’s notice below!
“Following the highly successful Inter Provincial Tournament (IPT) that was held in Port Elizabeth from 12 to 14 December 2017 the Coaches and Selectors who were in attendance:
- Selected an U16 (Born 2002) Development Girls & Boys Teams of 15 Girls & Boys for participation against Zimbabwe U18B in the CANA Zone IV Tournament, 8 to 11 March 2018 in Durban – the team that was selected was submitted to Swimming South Africa (“SSA”) in late December 2017 for ratification and approval. Based on discussions with SSA last week we are hoping that the U16 (Born 2002) Development Girls & Boys Team will be announced by the end of this week i.e. Friday, 26 January 2018; and
- Selected a Squad of 46 U16 Girls& 48 Boys (Born 2002) (inclusive of the Girls & Boys selected for the U16 Development Girls & Boys Team) to attend Regional Training Camps in Cape Town, Durban, East London, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth in January and February 2018.
Following the Regional Training Camps a Squad of 30 Girls & Boys will be selected to attend a focused training camp in either mid-March or early April (the dates and venue will be confirmed at a later stage). Following this camp two teams (an “A” and a “B” team) will be selected to participate at the Pan Pacific Youth Water Polo Festival in Auckland, New Zealand from Saturday, 7 July to Tuesday, 17 July 2018. Further communication regarding the Pan Pacific Youth Water Polo Festival will be forwarded in due course.”
