Western Province Schools’ Water Polo has decided to appoint a full-time manager effective January 2017.

‘Schools’ polo has historically been managed by interested and affected parents and educators on a voluntary, part-time basis,’ says current WPSWPA chairperson Gary Fisher. ‘But there’s lots on the go and we feel the time is right for us to upgrade the ongoing administration and development of the sport. We are seeing massive interest from non-water playing schools and this is extremely positive for the sport. Importantly, we also need to focus on making the sport more inclusive by reaching out to communities where schools may not have the facilities to play polo. The manager will drive this process.’

The job description has been posted on the wpschoolswaterpolo.co.za site and on the Facebook page. Applications close on Sunday 6 November. There will be a shortlisting process and those selected will be asked to present their vision for Western Province Schools’ water polo. This process is expected to take place during the week of 24 October.
